Choose Your UCOCARE Camera: Connection, Power & Purpose

Start with the job you need the camera to do. A camera that records without WiFi is not necessarily a camera you can watch from another location. Use this guide to choose the connection, then check power and recording.

Which connection do you need?

  1. Record journeys and check a parked vehicle: consider VM01 for front-and-cabin views, then verify compatible OBD-II power. It is not a rear-camera kit.
  2. Watch a property while away, without fixed WiFi: compare M7, R9 and Q70. Check cellular coverage at the installation point; “no WiFi” does not mean “no network needed.”
  3. Record indoors and view later, or preview nearby: compare C08. Offline recording needs a card; AP mode is a nearby phone connection. Remote viewing requires supported WiFi with internet.

M7 and Q70 have different recording and installation priorities. Read the detailed M7–Q70 comparison. AOV provides low-frame-rate context between events; it is not full-frame-rate video throughout the day.

Build a setup around the place

A garage or temporary site without fixed internet

If you need to check from home, first test cellular service where the camera will sit. Choose a location you can reach for charging. M7 or R9 may suit a compact placement; check the exact model’s environmental suitability and mounting before using it outdoors. Plan who will charge it and retrieve recordings.

An outdoor entrance with useful sunlight

Q70 is a candidate when dual views and solar-supported AOV recording suit the job. Choose the camera angle for useful footage and the panel position for sunlight; they may not be the same position. Shade, winter conditions and frequent viewing change the power balance. Solar charging does not guarantee uninterrupted operation.

A parked vehicle

VM01 needs suitable vehicle power and a working cellular connection to support remote checks. Verify road and cabin framing while stationary, then test remote access and saved recordings separately. Use the parked-car checklist before relying on the installation.

What belongs in the total cost?

  • Camera and the exact included accessories.
  • A compatible memory card where the selected package does not include one.
  • An active cellular plan for 4G remote functions; the included SIM is not lifetime free data.
  • Optional cloud storage, if chosen; this is separate from the connection.
  • Any compatible mounting or power accessories your installation needs.

VM01 and Q70 list a seven-day SIM data trial. Check the current trial terms for other models rather than assuming they are identical. Worldwide use: we prepare 4G cameras for the shipping destination. Remote access requires a compatible SIM, an active data plan, local 4G coverage and camera power. Tell us before dispatch if the country of use differs from the delivery address.
