I’ve got five of the older versions of this camera and they’ve been solid. The Wi-Fi range is decent, battery life is great, and with the solar panels, they’ve been running for about two years without ever needing to be plugged in. Picture quality is better than I expected, and they even work through Canadian winters. We get temps down below -30°C and they still keep going. They don’t charge quite as well in the cold, obviously, but they still charge enough that I’ve never had to bring them inside or plug them in, even in winter.I got this newer version of the camera as a replacement and wanted to point out two things. First, this version has a screw cap and o-ring on the solar panel cable, huge bonus for keeping moisture out. Second, if I had to suggest an improvement, it’d be the camera mount. It works well on flat surfaces, but I mounted mine on a tree and had a bit of a fight getting it to lock in properly. The locking tabs shifted a little when the screws went in, so it wouldn’t click in. I loosened one screw slightly (mount’s still solid) and it locked just fine. Might be worth adding a set screw or something to help lock it down easier.Out of the five cameras I’ve had, only one stopped working. I reached out to support and they replied the next day with instructions for a replacement. Super happy with the support and that’s why I wanted to write this review. Great product, and they’ve backed it up when it mattered.
