Just 5 or 6 holes to drill in the wall, and that's it. When choosing the location, check: - The length of the cable between the camera and the solar panel. In my case, the cable is long enough to provide some shelter for the camera while still allowing the panel to be placed in direct sunlight. - The solar panel needs to be in direct sunlight for at least a few hours a day. - The camera needs a good Wi-Fi signal (it shouldn't be too far from the router or a signal extender); it's best to test the Wi-Fi signal with your phone first—with shutters and doors closed—to be sure. - Test the camera's field of view by manually placing it in the intended spot and checking the view via the app before permanently installing it. There was a gap of nearly a week between the initial charge and the wall installation, yet the battery didn't run down. Since being connected to the solar panel, it has consistently shown a 100% charge, even during rainy weather. I'm waiting for winter to be absolutely certain, but I'm fairly confident in saying it works very well. That’s a downside, as I was hoping for free, more secure cloud storage. Another negative point: the app doesn't currently let me disable human detection; it works quite well but doesn't always detect my 3-year-old daughter—perhaps she's too small. I emailed the support address listed in the manual and received a reply within 24 hours. I still don't have a solution to my problem, but I’m going to send a follow-up email to get the help I need. I managed to connect this one to a D-Link repeater, and it works properly, although it significantly slows down the connection to that same repeater for a laptop or other device. Compared to the other one, it offers the same technical and performance features, yet—mysteriously—it works almost immediately if you follow the instructions (which are available in Italian) and use a fair amount of know-how. Pairing via the provided QR code isn't easy; you have to keep trying for a while to get it recognized. Getting the device onto the internet isn't simple either; it requires a lot of... patience but you can do it, I didn't manage with the other one. The features are completely similar to the dozens of other cameras found on Amazon, from the experience I've had I'd say this is a good compromise in this price range. The packaging is accurate and the assembly with the small solar panel is very simple. You can set both the alarm level, that is how sensitive the camera is to the passage of people compared to a small animal (the preset level of 6 is quite selective, increasing the sensitivity to 7 already gives the warning (passage of a medium-sized dog) and many other functions. Remember that if you set the sensitivity to 6 you will receive dozens of alerts if there is a family member in the house who enters and exits. The images that are attached to the alarm alert are well defined when detected during the day, those at night, both in color and black and white, lose a lot of definition in any mode the camera is set and at any distance the image is detected, forget about clearly identifying a face at night (take a look at the images I have inserted to get a clear idea). It should be noted that to have color images during the night, the camera will emit a beam of white light to take the photo or record the video and therefore the person present will be aware of the positioning of the camera. If, on the other hand, you decide on infrared detection (more discreet because there are no light emissions), the images will be exclusively in black and white. Communication between the camera and the mobile phone(s) where you have installed the app (it does not work on PC) occurs via the home wifi and the router with a fair amount of data consumption, keep this in mind because it could later be a problem and this applies to all cameras. Registering other users with whom to share the camera is not simple and you have to understand on the field how to find the solution. Even in this case I found it difficult even following the instructions but, in the end, I managed to share with my son (I am on Android, he is on OS). The function for being able to follow remotely and live what is happening in the field of view of the camera is interesting. You can decide to take a photo, record a video or talk to any people present in the field of view always via the app (the audio is two-way and therefore you can also listen and possibly record version) and the power supplied by the solar panel: after installing the camera—which I had fully charged beforehand using the included USB cable—I have consistently been able to check the charge level via the app. Even at dawn, it has never dropped below 73% (despite triggering numerous alerts). It remains to be seen how it will perform during the winter months. Overall, the camera has lots good things like settings (both manual and automatic) and capabilities that make it a reasonable choice. I have found that alerts don't always seem to happen. For instance, IF humanoid detection is set off and maximum sensitivity is set, the camera readily picks and alerts traffic flowing thru street (in attached picture) which is about 25-30 meters away. IF humanoid detection is turned on, a body in the walkaway (about 8 meters away) may or may not be detected depending on the time spent and movement direction along with whether the camera has been "dormant" for a while. Wish they had some adjustable parameters that they have used somewhere for the humanoid algorithm. I haven't tried the "zones feature" which might help with detection.The stats provided in the battery management / electricity statistics are somewhat "fishy" (ie. number of alarms counts up by 7 for each alarm detected.... number of "detects" also is large). No information as to what these actually represent.Strange things happen with the PTZ camera controls as there seems to be significant lag between pressing an "arrow direction" on the control and the camera response. Further, the camera some times just moves a bit and other times with the same amount of "press time". it moves significantly. As a result, the camera has readily ended up facing backward or pointing straight down making it hard to "aim" the camera at a "sweet spot".Overall imaging is good, mostly have used the camera on QHD. I do get "connect lost" messages during connection attempts even though my wifi signal strength usually indicates 100% (have seen 92 on the low side). The camera is less than 10 feet (outside window) from the wifi point. I am thinking that the loss might have something to do with the encryption connection setup "requirements".The camera has been thru some wet weather without issue, and charging has been able to keep full charge even on cloudy days (the solar panel faces south east so it only see sun for part of the day). The real test will the up coming winter months.Most of the time, an android app has been used although an apple device also is in the sharing list (a good feature). Note: there is no PC software unless you have access to a windows 11 machine which supposedly can run android apps in some form.

This allows them to recognize each other's IP addresses so they can communicate via Wi-Fi later on. 2- Setting up the app is even easier. You can use it on your smartphone or tablet (the latter offers a better view but is less convenient since you don't always have it with you). The camera is truly wireless. 3 screws for the camera, 3 screws for the solar panel. The power wire from solar panel is a very good length. Live view is possible but does drain the battery if used constantly (not horrendously fast though). We’ve had it up for a few weeks now before writing this review. We get notifications to 5 devices when motion is detected and with a microSD card in the camera can view the history of motion alerts although it doesn’t record 24/7 only the motion alerts. Quality is clear, can be seen from screenshots day and night. Sound quality is surprisingly good too as is the siren and remote spotlight function. My only suggestion would be if it could work with the HiCam app and thus, the PC program as my other iGeek cameras do. The battery life has dipped to around 40% at its lowest point but even with nearly 2 weeks of constant rain and cloud it’s still charged upto around 90% each day and the solar panel only gets ‘direct’ sunlight around 50% of the daytime. This was an easy step by step instructions to setup. Even down to rebooting the modem if not connecting. Which was my issue. Once I rebooted the modem within 20 seconds it connected. I had bought a dearer camera elsewhere and returned them to buy these cameras as it would not connect, had no idea to reboot modem may fix it. Glad i bought these cameras. Great price and value.
